Firefox 2.0

October 27th, 2006 by admin

Firefox 2.0 was recently released this week. Packed with tons of new features and security fixes. Tabbed browsing is now better than ever. Accidently closed a tab? Crashed the browser? No problem, the new firefox allows you to recover browser sessions. In Firefox 2 expect better protection against phishing and better management with RSS feeds.

Even better, Firefox 2.0 is also compatible with other operating systems unlike Internet Explorer 7. Firefox works on Linux, Unix, Windows, and Mac OS X.

The stylish new browser includes shiny new 3d navigation back, home, refresh, stop and home buttons. The biggest change is the use and management of tabbed web browsing. After having more than 10 tabs (# editable) you will noticed scrolling arrows to allow you to see the tabs instead of little tiny squares. The close button has been moved to each and every tab.

The search feature in Firefox has a new built-in search suggestion tool. So if you type in firefox it will list commonly searched terms like firefox themes, firefox web browser, firefox downloads, firefox upgrades, etc. When we clicked on a feed link, rather than showing RSS code, Firefox showed an informative summary page and provided a drop-down menu with several options for subscribing to the feed. Download now! Link on the right navigation bar.

Speed Up Firefox Start Time

October 25th, 2006 by admin

You can speed up the amount of time Mozilla Firefox takes to start up by downloading a preloader. This preloader specifically designed for Mozilla Firefox preloads firefox browser data into the Random Access Memory (RAM) of your computer so that the data is already there by the time Mozilla Firefox starts up.

Status Bar (Javascript) Text Disabled

October 25th, 2006 by admin

For some odd reason I noticed that the status bar text dynamically changable by javascript is disabled on default. Here’s how to re-enable it. Depending on your version, Operating System and certain updates click either tools options or edit preferences whichever is availible. Click the content globe. To the right of Enable Javascript, click advanced. Click the check mark next to Change Status Bar Text. Click okay, click okay. Done.
